FAQ

Good questions, honest answers

Everything first-timers ask about the HOCATT, the cold plunge, our dual sauna, and PEMF — plus the practical stuff for your first visit.

HOCATT Ozone Sauna

Our signature session: ten technologies woven into one 30-minute experience.

Learn more about the HOCATT →

›What is the HOCATT?

HOCATT stands for Hyperthermic Ozone & Carbonic Acid Transdermal Technology. It's a personal steam chamber that combines ten technologies in a single seated session — ozone steam, carbonic acid (CO2), far-infrared warmth, steam heat, high-intensity PEMF, frequency-specific microcurrents, supplemental oxygen, essential oil infusions, photon light, and ultraviolet irradiation.

›What happens during a session?

You sit comfortably inside the chamber with your head outside the whole time. The chamber fills with warm steam, carbonic acid, and then ozone in a pre-programmed sequence while you simply rest — supplemental oxygen is received quietly while you sit back. A full session takes about 30 minutes, and a SOZO team member sets everything up for you.

›Do I breathe the ozone?

No. Your head stays outside the chamber with a comfortable seal at the neck, so the ozone steam only contacts your skin. You breathe regular air plus gentle supplemental oxygen — there's no breathing technique to learn.

›What should I wear?

The HOCATT is in a private room, and skin contact with the steam is the point — most guests disrobe in private and are seated with a towel. A team member shows you everything before your first session.

›How should I prepare for a HOCATT session?

Arrive with clean, dry skin — please skip lotions and oils beforehand so the steam can do its work. Drink 64 oz of water before your session, and for maximum results start hydrating the day before.

›How often do people come?

It varies with your goals — many members enjoy one or two sessions a week. Our memberships are built around monthly session credits, and our team will help you find a rhythm that fits.

›Is the HOCATT right for everyone?

Every new guest completes a health questionnaire first, and we ask you to check with your healthcare provider if you are pregnant, have a heart condition, an implanted electronic device, or any medical concern. Our sessions support general wellness and relaxation — they are not medical treatment.

Cold Plunge

Cold water immersion in our purpose-built plunge.

›What is cold plunging?

Cold plunging is immersing your body in cold water — typically between 39°F and 55°F — for a short, focused period. Many guests use it as part of their recovery, circulation, mood, and mental-resilience routines.

›How long should I stay in?

Most people plunge for 2–3 minutes. If you're new, start with about 30 seconds and work up gradually — a team member will help you pace it.

›What temperature is the water?

Our plunge typically runs 39°F to 50°F depending on the session and your comfort level.

›How do you keep the water clean?

The plunge uses continuous filtration and sanitation with regular water testing, so the water stays clean and cold all day.

›What should I bring?

Swimwear is required — bring anything you're comfortable getting wet in — plus your own towel and a water bottle. Showers are provided to rinse off before you go in, and we recommend warm layers for afterward.

›Is cold plunging safe for everyone?

Cold water is a real stressor — that's the point — so if you are pregnant, have a heart condition, or any medical concern, talk with your healthcare provider before plunging. Guests under 18 need a parent or guardian's consent (minimum age 16).

›Can I combine the plunge with the sauna?

Yes — alternating heat and cold is called contrast therapy, and it's one of our most popular visits. Swimwear is required and please bring your own towel; showers are provided to rinse off before you go in. Ask about our contrast sessions and memberships.

Dual Sauna

Our LIT Method Titan hybrid sauna offers two kinds of heat in one cabin — traditional stove or infrared.

›What makes it a “dual” sauna?

The cabin is a LIT Method Titan hybrid: it has both a traditional sauna stove (classic high heat, with steam when water hits the rocks) and infrared heating panels (gentler air temperature with deep radiant warmth). You choose one mode per session — the two cannot run at the same time.

›Traditional or infrared — which should I pick?

Traditional runs hotter and feels like a classic Finnish sauna; infrared runs milder and warms you directly, which many people find easier for longer sits. There's no wrong answer — many members alternate.

›How long is a typical sauna session?

Most guests enjoy 15–40 minutes depending on the mode and their experience level. Listen to your body, hydrate, and step out whenever you need.

›What should I bring?

Swimwear is required — plus your own towel to sit on and a water bottle. Showers are provided to rinse off before you go in. We keep the cabin ready — just arrive, settle in, and warm up.

PEMF

Pulsed Electro-Magnetic Fields on our HUGO full-body system.

›What is PEMF?

PEMF stands for Pulsed Electro-Magnetic Fields — brief magnetic pulses delivered through mats you simply lie on. Every cell in your body carries a small electrical charge, and PEMF sessions are a way many people support their energy and recovery routines.

›What system does SOZO use?

We use the HUGO, a full-body high-intensity PEMF system with two mats — one below you and one above — so your whole body is in the field at once rather than one spot at a time.

›How long is a session?

PEMF is quick: sessions run about 3–12 minutes. Many guests add one before or after another service.

›What does it feel like?

With a high-intensity system you actually feel gentle, rhythmic muscle pulses with each cycle — most people find it surprisingly relaxing. You stay fully clothed.

›Anything I should know before a session?

Leave phones, cards, watches, and keys outside the field — magnetic pulses and electronics don't mix. If you have a pacemaker or any implanted electronic device, or are pregnant, PEMF isn't for you — and as always, check with your healthcare provider about what's right for you.
